On January 29, 2026, at the initiative of the Hydrometeorology Agency of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Office in Tajikistan and the Global Environment Facility, a training session was held on the topic: "Climate Aspects and Goals in the Republic of Tajikistan: Climate Commitments and Efforts in this Area." This was reported by the Agency's press service.
Representatives from relevant ministries and agencies, higher education institutions, and research institutes across the country participated in the training. The event addressed climate change-related issues, including climate change issues within the framework of the Hydrometeorology Agency's activities, climate risk mitigation and adaptation measures, key aspects of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), and the vulnerability of the population, particularly women, children, and youth, to climate change.



Particular attention was paid to the role of women in sustainable natural resource management. At the end of the training, participants exchanged views on current climate issues and emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation among all sectors of the population to fulfill the Republic of Tajikistan's climate commitments.
