In 2025, cultural institutions in Tajikistan stepped up their efforts to promote art and literature, NIAT Khovar reports, citing the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Minister of Culture Matlubakhon Sattoriyon noted that last year, 56 new plays were staged in professional theaters across the country, and artists completed 59 tours across 35 cities and districts. The State Circus of Tajikistan presented 21 circus performances.

In 2025, the Ministry of Culture's publishing houses released 108 book titles with a total print run of 78,103 copies, worth over 5.6 million somoni. Tajikistan received nine awards and honorary diplomas at the CIS "Art of the Book" international competition. The Leader of the Nation's book "Mavlono and Human Civilization" took first place in the "Dialogue of Cultures" category.
As part of the "Book Caravan" cultural campaign, approximately 10,000 copies of books were donated to regions across the country," the minister added.
Journalists were also informed that the Ministry of Culture has registered 192 newspapers, 184 magazines, 97 printing houses, 29 book sales outlets, 15 publishing houses, and six news agencies.
Cultural institutions held 69,055 cultural events throughout the year, reaching over 8.2 million people. The "From Village to Village" and "From Mahalla to Mahalla" programs alone held 7,177 events aimed at promoting cultural heritage and reading among the population.
