A 14-kilometer water pipeline is being installed in Penjikent to provide residents with clean drinking water and irrigate agricultural land, according to the city's press service.
Improving living conditions for the population, including providing clean drinking water and irrigating new lands, is a priority task that is constantly emphasized by the Government of the country, the executive authorities of the Sughd region and the city of Penjikent.

As part of the project, a water pipeline is being installed in the village of Mogiyon in the city of Penjikent, using funds from international partners, government funding, and contributions from local residents.
As reported during a construction inspection by Mayor Abdukholiq Kholikzoda, the pipeline begins in a valley near the village of Obi Borik and runs through the village of Puli Girdob to the village of Khurmi using 325-millimeter diameter pipes. Currently, 3.5 kilometers of pipes have been laid, and work continues.

Upon completion of the project, more than 3,000 village residents will be provided with clean drinking water. At the pipeline's final destination, in the village of Khurmi, over 350 hectares of agricultural land will be irrigated, increasing land productivity and improving agricultural conditions in the region.
