Penjikent attracts tourists from all over the world with its unique historical monuments and inimitable natural landscapes.
At the initiative of the city's local government, as part of the "State Program for Greening the Republic of Tajikistan until 2040," and to green tourist routes along the Penjikent-Ayni highway within the city, rural jamoats, and the road to ancient Penjikent, thousands of ornamental saplings were planted with the participation of dozens of employees from organizations and institutions. This was reported by the city press service.

This initiative was supported by the travel companies Penjikent-Intour and Zaravshon Majesty Travel, which planted more than 200 saplings of coniferous ornamental trees adapted to the mountain climate along the Zimtud-Gazza local road and in the area of the Simiganch tourist base.

The tree planting and landscaping campaign is reportedly ongoing. The city's tourism companies are also contributing to the improvement and greening of their native region.
