On March 21, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and Chairman of the Majlisi Milli Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, Chairman of the City of Dushanbe Rustami Emomali took part in the festive celebrations of International Navruz – 2026 in the Navruzgoh of the capital.
A large number of residents of the country and foreign guests took part in the festive event.
The event venue, Navruzgokh, was decorated with slogans in honor of Navruz and symbols of the international holiday.

Head of State Emomali Rahmon addressed the numerous participants of the celebratory cultural program and congratulated those gathered, the entire people of Tajikistan, and compatriots abroad on the celebration of International Navruz.
The President of the Republic of Tajikistan emphasized that Navruz is one of the most ancient and significant holidays of humanity. It symbolizes the awakening of nature, the arrival of a new year and a new life, the purity and elevation of spirit and thought, and the strengthening and dissemination of humanistic and moral values.
The head of state called this holiday one of the most ancient rites, which reflects the philosophy of life, the school of self-awareness, the history of the culture and civilization of Aryan ancestors.
He noted the invaluable contribution of his ancestors to the preservation of this sacred heritage.
According to Emomali Rahmon, in today's world, full of contradictions, Navruz has become a bridge of friendship between peoples, a factor of peace and mutual understanding, an example of the coexistence of civilizations, and the international community recognizes it as an international holiday.

Given the significance of this ancient tradition, the head of state recalled the need to build an International Navruz Center in Dushanbe, noting that this initiative is not only a tribute to the past, but also an investment in the future cultural development of the nation.
It was noted that on December 10, 2025, at the 20th session of the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Committee, one of the traditional manifestations of the holiday—the national nomination of Tajikistan “The Culture of Sumanak Preparation”—was included in the UNESCO Heritage Register.
The President emphasized the need to further preserve the traditions of Navruz, assimilate its values, disseminate them, and pass them on to future generations.
Addressing young people, Emomali Rahmon called for the study of history, culture and other eternal values of the people.

It was noted that this year, Navruz is celebrated during the period of preparation for the 35th anniversary of State independence, in connection with which the people need to redouble their efforts and work to strengthen and develop the country.
The head of state expressed confidence that through unity, mutual understanding, patience, and hard work, the Tajik people will achieve their strategic national goals and make the country even more prosperous.
After the congratulatory speech, the festive concert program began.

It is noted that thanks to the support of the head of state, the celebration of International Navruz is gaining increasing importance every year.
As part of the cultural event, cultural and artistic figures presented the traditions of the ancient festival, and performances by young pop and folk performers added a special solemnity to the program.
The main goal of celebrating International Navruz at a high level is to honor the traditions, ancient and modern culture and civilization of the Tajik people.
