On March 30, 2026, the 12th meeting of the High-Level Working Group on the Analysis of Obstacles to Mutual Trade of CIS Member States was held via videoconference at the Moscow office of the CIS Executive Committee, chaired by CIS Deputy Secretary General Ilkhom Tuychievich Nematov, the press service of the Organization's Executive Committee reported.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as members of the Economic Affairs Commission of the CIS Economic Council, the Eurasian Economic Commission, employees of the CIS Executive Committee and representatives of the business community.
The meeting's agenda included problematic issues related to the supply of strategically important goods for the economies of states participating in the Free Trade Zone Agreement, including household electrical appliances, sheet glass, Portland cement, and metallurgical products, as well as non-tariff import regulations.
Among the measures discussed were the application of a differentiated approach to collecting excise taxes on imported and manufactured products, the introduction of additional fees, price regulation and time restrictions.
The discussion was constructive. Following the meeting, decisions were made on three issues. The remaining issues were kept under review and will be discussed further at the next meeting of the High-Level Working Group, scheduled for September 2026.
