On April 7 of this year, a bilateral meeting was held at the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan between Sheralizoda Bakhodur Akhmadjon, Chairperson of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, and Radoslav Darski, Ambassador of the European Union to Tajikistan. This was reported by the Committee's press service.
During the meeting, the Committee Chairman briefed the European Union delegation on the agency's structure and operations. State oversight of water resource protection, wastewater monitoring, and the work of the Committee's analytical laboratory were highlighted.
The Chairman of the Committee informed about the prepared Red Book of the Republic of Tajikistan in a new edition.


It was also noted during the meeting that the Committee is working to protect and develop specially protected natural areas and intends to develop new ecological routes for tourists.
The European Union Country Director emphasized Tajikistan's unique natural environment, noting its majestic glaciers, lakes, forests, and rich wildlife. The European Union supports greening initiatives in the country, which contribute to climate resilience.
In addition, the European Union's readiness to cooperate on issues of air pollution, waste management, including separate waste collection, and strengthening environmental education among the population was noted.
The parties agreed to cooperate in the above-mentioned areas for the benefit of improving the state of the environment in Tajikistan.
