On Saturday and the fourth Sunday of April 2026, Tajikistan will host the flower festival "Sairi Guli Lola." The event is being held in accordance with the "Schedule of Holidays and Anniversaries, Festivals, Exhibitions, Cultural and Educational Events, and Folk Traditions in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2026," approved by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan dated January 2, 2026. This was reported by NIAT Khovar.
Responsibility for organizing the Sairy Guli Lola festival has been assigned to the Local Development Committee, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Environmental Protection, the Forestry Agency, the Housing and Public Utilities Committee, the Committee for Television and Radio, the Committee for Tourism Development, the Committee for Women and Family Affairs, the Committee for Youth and Sports, the executive bodies of state power in the regions, cities, and districts, as well as the unions of writers, designers, and artists.
In particular, in Dushanbe, in preparation for the festival, 3,999,630 tulips will be planted in accordance with the Decree of the City Chairman.
The festival aims to revive ancestral traditions symbolizing respect for the beauty and well-being of the environment, to inspire a love of floriculture, to protect natural heritage, and to improve and beautify every home, street, mahalla, village, town, district, city, region, and republic. The festival also aims to attract tourists and develop the country's tourism industry.
The festival winners will be awarded commemorative gifts from the Local Development Committee.
Historians note that tulip motifs are found in ancient archaeological sites. In the 3rd–5th centuries AD, the tulip flower was depicted on silver items and seals with three petals.
