From November 4 to 14, the 2025 World Amateur Chess Championship was held in Vrnjačka Banja, Serbia. Participants from various countries gathered together and brought together chess enthusiasts at one of the most prestigious international venues, according to the Tajikistan Chess Federation.
Tajikistan was especially proud of the performance of Nadezhda Antonova, the leader of the national women's team. She demonstrated confident and consistent play throughout the tournament and, in a tense competition among women, took third place, winning a bronze medal, a certificate, and an honorary trophy.
