A new emergency medical care and admissions department building was opened in the Abdurakhman Jami district of Khatlon Region. Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda and Khatlon Region Governor Davlatali Said attended the ceremony, according to the regional administration's press service.
The previous emergency and admissions department was built in 1954 and served the district's residents until today. Due to the old building's deterioration and its failure to meet modern requirements, a new, modern medical facility was erected in its place in honor of the 35th anniversary of Tajikistan's independence.
The construction of the new building was carried out on the initiative of the district's executive authorities with the support of heads of organizations and institutions, entrepreneurs, and philanthropists.
The new building covers 372 square meters (31 x 12 m) and includes 12 rooms. The new building houses a reception area, a surgeon's office, a therapist's office, a dressing room, an operating room, an intensive care unit, the department head's office, the senior nurse's office, a physician's office, a pediatric ward, an ultrasound room, an electrocardiography (ECG) room, and a shower room.
The premises are fully equipped with modern medical equipment worth one million somoni, funded by the special budget of the central district hospital and with the support of the country's Ministry of Health and Social Protection.
To improve the area around the building, paving slabs were laid, and ornamental trees, shrubs, and flowers were planted. Modern outdoor lighting with decorative lamps adds aesthetic appeal to the building in the evening.
The opening of the new building will improve the level and quality of medical care for residents of the Abdurrahman Jami district. Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda praised the work carried out and noted that the modern building, which meets international standards, is a worthy gift for the 35th anniversary of Tajikistan's independence.
During the visit, the Prime Minister held a meeting with hospital staff and instructed those responsible to pay special attention to the training of highly qualified personnel, the level of medical services provided, and the proper use of modern equipment.
