The Tajikistan national team successfully competed at the Asian Kurash Championships for youth, juniors, and adults, held in South Korea, winning a total of eight medals: two gold, two silver, and four bronze. This was reported by the Committee for Youth and Sports under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Today, at Dushanbe International Airport, Tajik athletes were warmly welcomed by family, friends, representatives of the sports community, and officials. The national team members returned home with high results, strengthening Tajikistan's position in Asian kurash.
According to official data, dozens of teams from across Asia participated in the competition. The senior team from Tajikistan achieved the highest results: Sarvar Abdushukurov (up to 66 kg) and Shakarmamad Mirmamadov (over 120 kg) became Asian champions, winning gold medals.
The following athletes won silver and bronze medals: Iskandar Makhmadkhodzhazoda – silver (up to 60 kg); Muhammadsharif Nadzhmiddinov – bronze (up to 81 kg); Khamroz Radzhabov – bronze (up to 90 kg); Ulugbek Rakhimov – bronze (up to 100 kg).
In the youth category, Khalimdzhon Khalimov won the bronze medal (up to 60 kg), and among the young men, Umardzhon Boboaliev won the silver medal (up to 46 kg).
The country's sports leadership expressed gratitude to the athletes, coaching staff, and the Tajikistan Kurash Federation for their contribution to the development of national sport and the enhancement of the republic's international prestige.
