On August 18, a telephone conversation took place between the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, and the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, the press service of the head of state reported.
During the conversation, the two heads of state discussed in detail current issues on the international agenda and certain aspects of bilateral relations.
Emomali Rahmon, emphasizing the special political significance of the results of the meeting between the presidents of the Russian Federation and the United States of America in Alaska for reducing tensions and strengthening mutual understanding on the global stage, expressed support for the peace process to resolve the Ukrainian crisis.
During the conversation, current issues of mutual interest in Tajik-Russian bilateral cooperation were also touched upon.
The parties agreed to continue dialogue and contacts at the highest level.
