A criminal case has been opened against a Dushanbe resident suspected of fraudulent activities related to the organization of residential renovations, according to the Dushanbe Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to investigators, citizen Bakhtiyor Mutalzoda hired contractors to perform renovations in new buildings and residential buildings, receiving funds from clients to pay the workers. However, law enforcement authorities determined that the suspect embezzled the funds intended for payment to the contractors.
Specifically, while renovating a building on Kazokon Street, Mutalzoda received 68,000 somoni from clients, which was supposed to go toward paying hired workers. He allegedly used this money for his own personal gain.
The Dushanbe Ministry of Internal Affairs press service reported that the necessary materials have been collected, a criminal case has been opened, and an investigation is underway.
Law enforcement agencies have clarified that the suspect may be involved in other similar crimes. Investigations are underway.
