The Hydrometeorology Agency of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan held a bilateral meeting with representatives of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the agency reported.
During the talks, the parties discussed cooperation in natural risk management and disaster resilience. Particular attention was paid to flood forecasting, meteorological data exchange, and the use of modern natural hazard modeling tools.
In addition, cooperation within the framework of the "Program for the Development of Risk-Based Financing Sectors for Natural Events" was discussed. Following the meeting, the parties outlined a plan for further cooperation, including measures to modernize meteorological services and implement advanced technologies to improve forecast accuracy and the effectiveness of early warning systems.
The agency noted that the development of meteorological services and risk management systems will improve emergency preparedness and provide additional protection for the population and economy from the consequences of natural disasters.
