A specialized welding robot has begun to be used at the Rogun Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP) construction site in Tajikistan, the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic reported .
The welding robot is designed to perform various metalworking operations with high precision and strong joints. This technology accelerates construction work, reduces the workload on employees, and minimizes the risk of injury when working in hazardous areas.
"The introduction of innovative equipment at the Rogun Hydroelectric Power Plant improves operational efficiency and ensures personnel safety, especially during complex welding operations," the Ministry of Energy noted.
Despite automation, the need for qualified specialists remains. As of August 2025, the Rogun Hydroelectric Power Plant's HR department continues to offer vacancies for construction workers and engineering and technical personnel.
The Rogun Hydroelectric Power Plant is the country's largest hydroelectric facility. The introduction of new technologies, including robotic equipment, allows for faster completion and improved quality of work, while ensuring employee safety.
