The Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan held a meeting with Keiko Furuta, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Dushanbe, at a meeting. The committee's press service reported this.
During the talks, the parties discussed prospects for strengthening cooperation in the field of ecology and biodiversity conservation. Particular attention was paid to preparations for the upcoming CITES conference in Samarkand , the implementation of the Nagoya Protocol , and expanding collaboration within the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) and the Japan Biodiversity Information Facility (JBIF) .
In addition, the issue of further cooperation within the framework of the second phase of the Japan Biodiversity Fund , related to the implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Framework for Biodiversity , was discussed.
Following the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to developing bilateral dialogue and expressed their readiness to implement joint projects aimed at preserving natural heritage and sustainable development.
