Chairman of the Majlisi Milli Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan and Mayor of Dushanbe, Rustami Emomali, participated in the Third Interparliamentary Forum of Central Asian Countries, which took place on September 23, 2025, in Bishkek, reports NIAT Khovar.
The forum was established to strengthen cooperation between the representative and legislative bodies of the region's countries and develop regional ties and strategic partnerships. The first meetings of these forums were held in Turkestan (Kazakhstan) and Khiva (Uzbekistan) and contributed to the expansion of interparliamentary cooperation and regional dialogue.
In his speech, Rustami Emomali noted that the regular holding of the forum demonstrates respect for regional values of cooperation and is an expression of the ongoing efforts of Central Asian countries to strengthen trust and dialogue for the benefit of the peoples of the region.
It was noted that, thanks to the constructive efforts and consistent policies of the heads of state, the Central Asian region is gradually becoming a space for mutually beneficial cooperation. The new atmosphere of friendship, trust, and cooperation primarily benefits the peoples of our countries.
The forum discussed key regional issues, including trade and economic cooperation, attracting investment, regulating labor migration, and advancing economic digitalization. These topics were discussed separately during the forum's breakout sessions.
Following the participants' deliberations, the Bishkek Declaration was adopted, enshrining the agreements reached and areas for further cooperation. The forum emphasized the importance of cooperation between legislative bodies of Central Asian countries for the region's sustainable development and strengthening trust between states.
