Tajikistan's President and Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon arrived in the Faizabad district on a working visit to attend the opening of several social and industrial facilities and to learn about the local population's living conditions. This was reported by the presidential press service.
At the beginning of his trip, the head of state visited an agricultural produce exhibition, which showcased vegetables, dried fruits, canned goods, melons, grains, and legumes grown using fertile soil and high-quality seeds.
According to local authorities, in 2025, farmers in the district increased their crop area to 10,200 hectares. The focus is on growing grains, legumes, industrial crops, potatoes, vegetables, and melons. Thanks to adherence to agricultural standards, agricultural production in the district is demonstrating steady growth.
As of September 1 of this year, farms in the Faizabad district produced 7,100 tons of potatoes, 7,000 tons of grain, 7,600 tons of fruit, over 6,000 tons of vegetables, as well as 10,700 tons of milk, 2,100 tons of meat, and over 48 million eggs. The harvest of tomatoes, corn, bell peppers, and legumes from replantings on an area of 240 hectares continues.
The exhibition also featured products by folk artisans and housewives – various types of bread, flatbreads, and sweet pastries – demonstrating the region's rich traditions.
Emomali Rahmon emphasized the importance of a timely harvest and instructed district leadership and agricultural producers to increase production capacity, stockpile produce for the fall and winter, expand orchards and vineyards, and conduct fall sowing using high-yielding seed varieties.
