The next meeting of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan was held under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Chairman of the Government of the country Emomali Rahmon. This was reported by the press service of the head of state.
At the beginning of the meeting, a report was heard from the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan, Rahim Saidzoda, on the progress of the implementation of the State Program for the Development of Educational Institutions of the Khatlon Region for 2022–2027, in particular the second stage for 2025–2027.
As noted, the goal of the program is to solve urgent problems in the region's education sector – eliminating the shortage of study places, replacing emergency buildings of educational institutions and creating modern conditions for learning. Within the framework of the second stage of the program, it is planned to build 165 buildings of educational institutions, which will create 53,303 new study places. The total cost of the project is 957 million 850 thousand somoni.
The Government of the Republic of Tajikistan has approved an action plan for the implementation of the second stage of the State Program. The Head of State has instructed the relevant ministries and departments to take all necessary measures for the timely and high-quality implementation of the tasks envisaged by the program, as well as to provide annual reports on the work done.
Special attention was paid to digitalization issues during the meeting. The President instructed to accelerate the implementation of the electronic system for managing the industry and the transfer of the educational process to a digital format. It was emphasized that the implementation of the e-government concept should be ensured in the shortest possible time and with maximum efficiency in all areas.
During the meeting, draft laws concerning the education system and legal regulation were also approved and sent for consideration to the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan:
– the draft law “On the Status of a Teacher”, aimed at increasing the prestige of the profession, protecting the honor and dignity of teachers, creating favorable conditions for their work and professional development;
– a draft amendment to the Law on Education aimed at harmonizing with the new law on the status of a teacher;
– draft amendment to the Code of Administrative Offenses;
– draft amendments to the law "On military duty and military service".
In addition, the State Food Security Program for 2026–2030 and the Program for Training Young People for Economic Sectors for 2025–2029 were approved.
At the end of the meeting, President Emomali Rahmon gave specific instructions to the responsible structures to ensure the implementation of the decisions taken, preparation for the autumn-winter period of 2025-2026, the comprehensive readiness of educational institutions for the new academic year, as well as the intensification of improvement work in anticipation of the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan.
