Asian Football Confederation Match Commissioner Mikhail Tolkachev from Kyrgyzstan inspected the Tursunzade Central Stadium, which has been nominated to host matches of the continent's second most important club tournament, the second AFC Champions League 2025/26, FFT reports.
During the visit, the AFC representative, together with representatives of the Football Federation of Tajikistan and the football club "Regar-TadAZ", inspected the infrastructure of the main sports arena of the city – the stadium "TALCO Arena", which, if approved by the AFC, will be called the Central Stadium of Tursunzade during the matches of the AFC Champions League 2025/26.
During the inspection, special attention was paid to the stadium’s compliance with AFC requirements in such aspects as the quality of the pitch, capacity and conditions for fans and VIPs, security, stadium lighting, changing rooms and rooms for officials, conditions for the media, etc.
Following the inspection, the AFC representative gave recommendations on eliminating some of the shortcomings at the Tursunzade Central Stadium. The management of the Regar-TadAZ football club expressed its readiness to promptly fulfill all the necessary conditions for hosting international matches at a high level.
