Rescuers from the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense of Tajikistan evacuated a Russian citizen who was trapped on a mountain peak in the Varzob district and unable to descend on his own.
According to the Emergency Situations Committee press service, the incident occurred on July 10. Russian citizen Vladislav Antipov climbed a mountain peak located in the Varzob district, approximately 30 kilometers from Dushanbe, but was unable to descend on his own.
After the signal was received by the Crisis Management Center of the Emergency Situations Committee, a rescue team was immediately dispatched to the scene. Rescuers located the tourist and carried out an evacuation operation.
Thanks to the professional and timely actions of the Emergency Situations Committee staff, the Russian tourist was safely evacuated from the danger zone to the mountainside and taken to safety. According to the rescue agency, the man did not suffer any serious injuries.
The Emergency Situations Committee reminded that before hiking in the mountains, tourists are advised to inform their loved ones or relevant authorities about their route in advance, check the weather forecast, have the necessary protective equipment, and avoid traveling alone to remote mountain areas.
