On July 3, 2026, the sixth meeting of the Subcommittee of the Republic of Tajikistan and the European Union on Development Issues was held at the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan, the Ministry reported.
The meeting was co-chaired by Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan Rukhshona Nasriddinzoda and European Union Co-Chair Charlotte Adrian.



Representatives of relevant ministries and agencies of Tajikistan, as well as a delegation from the European Union, took part in the negotiations.
The parties discussed current issues of cooperation between Tajikistan and the EU in the areas of economic development and investment. Particular attention was paid to the implementation of Tajikistan's National Development Strategy for the period up to 2030 and the country's Medium-Term Development Program for 2026–2030.
The meeting participants also discussed issues related to the promotion of the Global Gateway initiative.
During the meeting, special attention was paid to coordinating joint initiatives and projects with Tajikistan's national priorities. The parties discussed the development of transport and energy infrastructure, the digital economy, and water resource management.
In addition, issues of developing strategically important raw materials, developing human capital and expanding regional cooperation were discussed.
Representatives of Tajikistan and the European Union analyzed the progress of joint cooperation programs and exchanged views on agenda items.
The parties confirmed their readiness to further strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation and effectively implement joint initiatives.
Following the meeting, participants positively assessed the results of the negotiations and reaffirmed their commitment to continuing constructive dialogue, consistently implementing the agreements reached, and further strengthening the partnership between Tajikistan and the European Union.
