On June 30, Tajikistan's Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin met with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Washington, D.C., the Tajik Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported .
During the talks, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for developing relations between Tajikistan and the United States, confirming their mutual interest in further strengthening the bilateral partnership based on the principles of equality, mutual respect, and long-term mutually beneficial cooperation.
Particular attention was paid to expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation. The parties discussed prospects for increasing mutual trade, improving the investment climate, and attracting American companies to implement projects in priority sectors of the Tajik economy.
In addition, the parties noted the potential for cooperation in industry, energy, the development of transport infrastructure, and the digital economy.
Sirojiddin Mukhriddin and Marco Rubio also exchanged views on regional security issues. During the meeting, they reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening cooperation in the fight against extremism, terrorism, and transnational crime.
The parties also emphasized the importance of strengthening stability and promoting sustainable development in Central Asia.
