Law enforcement officials in Tajikistan have detained suspects in two criminal cases involving theft of property and armed robbery, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
In the Bobojon Gafurov district, during operational search activities, Khujand resident Bahovaddin Sadriev, born in 2000, and one minor were detained on suspicion of committing theft.
According to investigators, the suspects broke into the home of M.V. Akhmedova, a resident of the Bobojon Gafurov district, and stole various gold jewelry. The damage amounted to 600,000 somoni.
A preliminary investigation is being conducted into this incident.
In addition, in the Vosesky district, police officers detained a suspect in the commission of an armed robbery.
According to a statement from local resident M.V. Khodzhaeva, born in 1982, the incident occurred on June 22, 2026, at approximately 1:00 AM. She stated that an unknown man, armed with a wooden stick, entered her home, grabbed her by the throat, and began strangling her. After threatening the victim, the attacker stole her Tekno mobile phone and fled the scene.
As a result of operational-search activities, Mengulov Muboraksho Dilovarovich, born in 2006, a resident of the Vose district, was detained on suspicion of committing this crime.
An investigation is underway into the robbery.
