On June 23, 2026, in Vienna, Austria, Tajikistan's Finance Minister Fayziddin Qahhorzoda met with Walid Al-Bahar, Director General of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan.
During the meeting, a signing ceremony was held for a loan agreement between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development for the School Development project.
The document was signed by Tajikistan's Minister of Finance, Fayziddin Kahhorzoda, and the Director General of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, Walid Al-Bahar.


According to the agreement, the total funding amount is 6 million Kuwaiti dinars, equivalent to 20 million US dollars. The entire amount is provided to Tajikistan as a concessional loan.
In addition, the project implementation includes funding in the amount of 4.5 million US dollars through a contribution from the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The project aims to develop and improve the general education system, meet the country's needs for educational infrastructure, and create conditions for educating a growing number of students.
The project includes the construction and equipping of a number of educational institutions in various cities and regions of Tajikistan.
