On June 22, a meeting was held at the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Tajikistan between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleksandr Mishchenko and representatives of the Ukrainian community living in Tajikistan.

The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Special Representative of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine for Central Asia Oleksandr Mishchenko, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Tajikistan Valeriy Evdokimov, employees of the diplomatic mission, as well as Ukrainian citizens permanently residing in the country.

During the meeting, Oleksandr Mishchenko addressed the audience, discussing current areas of Ukrainian diplomacy, the development of international cooperation, and Ukraine's interaction with the countries of Central Asia. A significant portion of his speech was devoted to strengthening ties with the region's states, prospects for economic and humanitarian cooperation, and the role of Ukrainian communities abroad.

According to the Deputy Minister, Ukraine intends to focus more on developing relations with Central Asian countries. He reported that a separate unit responsible for interaction with the region's states has been created within the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and a special representative for Central Asia has been appointed.

"We understand the region's unique characteristics and intend to develop cooperation with the Central Asian states. This applies to areas such as education, pharmaceuticals, mechanical engineering, energy, and other areas of mutual interest," noted Alexander Mishchenko.

In his speech, he emphasized Ukraine's interest in developing cooperation with Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan, as well as expanding contacts in various areas of the economy and humanitarian cooperation.

Particular attention was paid to the prospects for trade and economic cooperation. According to the diplomat, the Ukrainian side is interested in restoring and further developing business ties with Central Asian countries, as well as in exploring new avenues for mutually beneficial partnership.

"We agreed to work on restoring and developing trade and economic ties, as well as exploring new areas of collaboration. The more active contacts between our countries are, the more opportunities there will be for joint projects," he emphasized.

Ukraine's activities on the international stage were also discussed during the meeting. Oleksandr Mishchenko noted the importance of diplomatic efforts aimed at expanding cooperation with foreign partners and strengthening international contacts.

"Today, Ukrainian diplomacy is seeking every possible way to strengthen international support for the country. It is important for us to expand our circle of partners and friends, develop economic ties, and deepen cooperation where it benefits both sides," the Deputy Foreign Minister stated.

He also drew attention to the importance of international dialogue and interaction between states.

"Every country's voice matters on the international stage. That's why we place great emphasis on developing relationships with partners, strengthening mutual understanding, and expanding cooperation in various fields," said Alexander Mishchenko.

A separate section of his speech was devoted to the Ukrainian diaspora abroad. The Deputy Minister thanked community representatives for maintaining cultural and social ties with their homeland and emphasized the importance of their compatriots' participation in developing humanitarian contacts and supporting the activities of diplomatic missions.

The meeting also touched on international humanitarian and volunteer aid. According to the diplomat, government agencies, public initiatives, charitable organizations, and individual citizens from various countries make significant contributions to supporting civilians.

In conclusion, Alexander Mishchenko noted the need for further expansion of cooperation in various areas.

"It's important not only to maintain existing contacts but also to seek new opportunities for cooperation in the economic, energy, education, and humanitarian spheres. This creates the foundation for a long-term partnership and mutual support," he emphasized.

Following the meeting, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleksandr Mishchenko and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Tajikistan Valeriy Evdokimov laid flowers at the bust of Taras Shevchenko, a prominent Ukrainian poet, writer, artist, and public figure, considered one of the key figures in Ukrainian culture and Ukraine's national poet.

Participants in the ceremony honored the memory of Taras Shevchenko, whose literary and artistic legacy occupies a special place in the history and culture of the Ukrainian people.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine's visit to Dushanbe and his meeting with representatives of the Ukrainian community were part of efforts to maintain ties with compatriots abroad and develop Ukraine's contacts with the countries of Central Asia. During the event, issues of further cooperation in the humanitarian, educational, and economic spheres were discussed, as well as prospects for expanding cooperation between Ukraine and the countries of the region.
