The stable and uninterrupted functioning of global supply chains requires the coordinated efforts of all countries, Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang stated on Monday.
Ding Xuexiang, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee, made the call in his keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the 4th China International Expo on Supply Chain Promotion in Beijing.
As a responsible major country, China has effectively utilized its advantages of a complete industrial system and a super-large market to promote the stable operation of the global economy, the Vice Premier noted, adding that China's practical actions have firmly ensured the stability and smooth operation of global industrial and supply chains.
Ding Xuexiang called on all countries to strengthen mutual trust, regard industrial and supply chains as global public goods, and enhance the smooth flow of trade. He emphasized the need to uphold and practice genuine multilateralism and promote integrated development so that scientific and technological innovations benefit more countries and people worldwide. The Vice Premier also emphasized that all parties should work together to strengthen resource sharing, promote mutually beneficial cooperation on key mineral resources, and advance their peaceful uses.
South African Vice President Paul Mashatile, as well as leaders of the International Chamber of Commerce and the Sustainable Markets Initiative, also attended and delivered speeches at the opening ceremony.
