On June 9, in San Jose, California, Azizjon Azimi, Chairman of the Council on Artificial Intelligence under the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan, met with Vikram Malyala, Global Business Director of Supermicro. This was reported by the press service of the Council on Artificial Intelligence under the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan.
During the talks, the parties noted that a "green" artificial intelligence cluster based on H200 GPU chips, created in collaboration with Supermicro, is already operational in Tajikistan. According to meeting participants, the project has attracted both local and regional offtakers.
Given the republic's significant potential in hydropower generation, opportunities were presented for the launch and operation of new AI data centers in Tajikistan.
The discussion also emphasized Supermicro's key role in the global AI infrastructure. This includes server platforms for training and inference of AI models, high-performance GPU systems, and cloud data center solutions.
The parties paid special attention to Supermicro's participation in the Area AI Consortium. It was noted that the company is one of the anchor participants in the world's first dedicated artificial intelligence zone, Area AI, being created in Dushanbe.
Azizjon Azimi, Chairman of the Council on Artificial Intelligence, emphasized that the current "Area AI 1.0" platform provides leading global artificial intelligence companies with opportunities to accelerate the launch, testing, operation, and export of AI infrastructure solutions based on Tajikistan's green energy sector.
Furthermore, the meeting participants discussed prospects for cooperation in creating a scalable platform for regional artificial intelligence computing in the republic. They believe such a platform could become the foundation for servicing global offtakers.
