At least three people were killed as a result of airstrikes on the city of Chuguev in the Kharkiv region on the night of June 9, according to Oleg Sinegubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.
According to him, the victims were men aged 70 and 56, as well as a 22-year-old woman. Several others also suffered wounds and other injuries, including those related to acute stress reactions.
Chuguev Mayor Galina Minaeva reported that missiles and drones, including Shahed-type drones, were used during the attack. She added that a pregnant woman was among the dead.
As a result of the strikes, approximately eight apartment buildings and more than ten private residential buildings were damaged.
That same night, Kharkiv was also attacked. According to Oleg Sinegubov, 15 people were injured in the city. Among those requiring medical attention were three children, including a one-year-old boy. Three women were hospitalized.
The head of the regional military administration reported that fires broke out after the strikes. At least 18 cars were damaged. Windows in multi-story residential buildings were also blown out and building facades were damaged.
Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov clarified that the strikes hit the Shevchenkivskyi and Kholodnohirskyi districts of the city. Among the damaged buildings was a public utility building, with an employee injured.
According to Terekhov, the strikes targeted residential buildings, civilian businesses, stores, cars, and urban infrastructure. One of the drones hit a multi-story residential building, causing nearby cars to burn, dozens of vehicles to be damaged, and windows to be shattered in neighboring buildings.
However, as the city mayor noted, there were no fatalities as a result of the drone hitting a residential building.
