During the EBRD Annual Meeting and Business Forum, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Communications Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) on cooperation in the modernisation and expansion of the country's national telecommunications network.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Finance of Tajikistan, the document was signed by First Deputy Minister of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan Yusuf Majidi, First Deputy Head of the Communications Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan Parviz Noriyon, and Director and Head of Telecommunications, Media and Technology at the EBRD Holger Munt.


The project aims to develop the country's digital infrastructure, expand access to modern telecommunications services, improve the quality and reliability of communications, and support Tajikistan's digital transformation.
The project is expected to attract approximately $43 million in funding. Its implementation will contribute to the development of the digital economy, strengthen regional integration, and create new opportunities for citizens and entrepreneurs.
In addition, the project is expected to contribute to the country's economic development, strengthen regional connectivity, and expand opportunities for businesses and the public.
