In Sughd Oblast, employees of the Main Directorate's Department of State Control over the Use and Protection of Fish Resources, Flora, and Fauna discovered illegal fishing during 24-hour monitoring operations. This was reported by the press service of the Sughd Oblast Committee for Environmental Protection.
The violation was recorded in the Tajik Sea in the Shurkul region.

According to the agency, an investigation was conducted into two residents of the Bobojon Gafurov district—Tolibjon Mirbabaev and Bakhrom Zuvaev. The materials have been forwarded to law enforcement agencies for legal action.
During the inspection, 132 freshly caught fish of various species were confiscated from the violators, including roach, sabrefish, pike perch, pike, crucian carp, and bream.
The agency recalled that in order to protect and preserve fish resources in the region's reservoirs, create favorable conditions for natural reproduction of fish, and prevent violations, a fishing ban was in effect on all rivers and reservoirs in the Sughd region from March 15 to June 1, 2026.
