The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) has recognized Tajikistan as one of the top three trade reformers in the Europe and Central Asia region for 2022–2024. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan.
The assessment was presented in the OECD's latest report for 2025, prepared on the basis of trade facilitation indicators, which are also used to analyze the effectiveness of export promotion measures.
According to the report, Tajikistan ranked among the leaders thanks to measures to expand digital transparency, reduce paper barriers in trade procedures, develop regional infrastructure, and improve compliance with international standards and the sustainability of the trading system.
The OECD specifically noted the improvement in information on the Tajikistan Trade Portal compared to 2022. It emphasized that the portal plays a crucial role for exporters in understanding and complying with regulatory requirements.

The document also states that the average reduction in paper barriers to trade procedures in Europe and Central Asia in 2022–2024 was 3.1%, while Tajikistan’s figure exceeded 12%.
The OECD hailed this result as a significant achievement in eliminating border barriers and redundant administrative procedures.
The organization also commended Tajikistan for its implementation of Category C measures of the Trade Facilitation Agreement, which provide for technical assistance. This includes the implementation of a roadmap to 2040 aimed at eliminating discrepancies between legislation and its implementation.
Tajikistan's Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Abdurahmonzoda Abdurahmon Safarali, stated that thanks to the policies of Emomali Rahmon, Tajikistan's foreign trade turnover has expanded with 128 countries in recent years.
According to him, Tajikistan's reforms in the area of creating a favorable trading environment have received high praise from international organizations, including the OECD.
