The silk harvest season has officially begun in the city of Kanibadam. Mayor Davron Zohidzoda attended the opening ceremony, wishing the farmers and silkworm breeders excellent results and a successful season.
The development of sericulture and increased silk production are reportedly under the constant attention of Tajik President Emomali Rahmon. It is noted that, thanks to government support, the industry has demonstrated steady growth year after year.

According to the plan, the city plans to grow 750 silkworm cocoons this year, with silk production expected to reach 22,500 kilograms. On the first day of collection, 1,120 kilograms of product were delivered.
The first batch of silk arrived from silk growers in the rural communities of Patar, Puloton, Firuzoba and Khamroboyev, who handed over their products to collection points.

Officials emphasized that all necessary resources are in place to ensure the timely collection of high-quality silk. They emphasized that sericulture remains a key area of agricultural development in the city.
