As a result of prolonged heavy rainfall this month, a mudslide has descended from the slopes near the village of Loika Sherali in Penjikent, the city's press service reported.
A mudflow overflowed the riverbed near the village of Navobod, causing water to spill onto a section of the road and affecting orchards, vineyards, and adjacent agricultural land.

The situation was discussed at an emergency meeting of the Emergency Situations and Civil Defense Commission under the city's executive authorities. The meeting, chaired by Penjikent Mayor Abdukholikam Kholikzoda, was held in the public assembly hall of the village of Loika Sherali after an inspection of the scene.
Taking into account the urgent measures taken, the road was cleared and transport links were restored.

Currently, more than 10 pieces of large equipment from businesses, organizations, and city residents are involved at the scene to eliminate the consequences of the natural disaster.
The extent of the damage caused is determined by the city commission, and the necessary measures to eliminate the consequences of the incident are also being developed.
