In the first three months of this year, agricultural production in Khatlon Region totaled 2.2 billion somoni, a 7.5 percent increase compared to the same period last year, according to the regional governor's press service.
Against this backdrop, on April 17, during a working visit to the Vakhsh district, the Chairman of the Khatlon region, Davlatali Said, inspected the progress of cotton sowing at the Shodi 2011 farm, located in the village of Chorgulteppa, jamoat, Zarnisor settlement.
During the visit, it was noted that the farm has been operating since 2004 and owns 10 hectares of land. Davlatmurod Berdiev is the manager, and the farm employs 20 shareholders.



According to information provided during the visit, cotton is sown on 8 hectares, while vegetables are grown on the remaining 2 hectares. The crops are in good condition. It is noted that the farmers are using best practices and adhering to agricultural standards to achieve high yields.
During his tour of the fieldwork, the head of the region gave instructions on the rational use of land resources, increasing crop yields, introducing modern agricultural methods, and providing the domestic market with high-quality products.



Cotton sowing has reportedly begun on over 60,000 hectares in the region. Concurrently, sowing of other crops continues.
It is noted that the development of agriculture and the efficient use of land resources remain priority areas of economic policy aimed at ensuring food security and improving the standard of living of the population.
