Russia set up its first national pavilion at the 6th China International Consumer Goods Expo (CICPE), which is taking place from April 13 to 18 in Haikou, Hainan Province, southern China.
At the national pavilion, 14 Russian companies presented their unique consumer goods, including food products, health products, medicinal and personal care cosmetics, jewelry, and art objects.
Evgeny Bazhov, General Representative of the Russian Export Center (REC) in China, stated that Russia opened its national pavilion at CICPE for the first time to systematically present the national "Made in Russia" brand, facilitate the entry of high-quality Russian consumer goods clusters into the Chinese market, and closely respond to the trend of increasing consumer demand in China.
E. Bazhov noted that China has the largest and most dynamic consumer market in the world. Russian companies have unique advantages in natural resources, research potential, and the affordability of their products, which fully aligns with the Chinese market.
It is worth noting that the 6th CICPE is the first such exhibition organized since the launch of the independent customs operation regime in December last year throughout the Hainan Free Trade Port (HFTP).
At the current exhibition, Russian participating companies unanimously noted the high efficiency and smooth customs clearance of imported exhibits, the precision and effectiveness of on-site business contacts, and the significant increase in "Made in Russia" brand recognition thanks to the overall image of the Russian national pavilion.
According to E. Bazhov, following the launch of independent customs operations throughout the Hainan Free Trade Zone, several policy measures were adopted on the island to facilitate the creation of an institutional environment with low entry barriers and high efficiency for foreign enterprises, which reduced the costs of entering the Chinese market and shortened logistics cycles.
As a reminder, the main theme of the aforementioned event was "Openness Drives Global Consumption, Innovation Drives a Better Life." Over 3,400 brands from more than 60 countries and regions participated in the exhibition.
