On April 9, the 48th meeting of the Council on Aviation and Airspace Use of the Commonwealth of Independent States was held in Dushanbe under the Tajik chairmanship. This was reported by the Civil Aviation Agency under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The meeting was attended by heads of civil aviation authorities and deputy transport ministers of the states participating in the Interstate Aviation Committee.
The meeting was opened with a welcoming speech by the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan, Azim Ibrokhim.
The meeting addressed issues of coordinating activities in the field of civil aviation, including flight safety, international air transport policy, airspace use and air traffic management, as well as the implementation of agreed interstate regulatory documents, international standards and regulations in the field of civil aviation.


Holding this event in Dushanbe strengthens Tajikistan's position in the international aviation arena and promotes favorable conditions for developing the country's expertise in air transport, airport infrastructure, and route network expansion.
As a reminder, the 47th meeting of the CIS Council on Aviation and Airspace Use was held on November 20, 2025, in Moscow at the Interstate Aviation Committee.
By decision of the heads of delegations, the chairmanship of the Council on Aviation and Airspace Use of the CIS countries passed from the Russian Federation to the Republic of Tajikistan.
Since January 2026, the authorized representative of the Republic of Tajikistan – Director of the Civil Aviation Agency under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan Khabibullo Nazarzoda, by decision of the Council of the Interstate Aviation Committee, heads the Council on Aviation and Use of Airspace of the CIS for a period of three years.
The Interstate Aviation Committee is a permanent body established in 1991 to implement the Agreement on Civil Aviation and Airspace Use.
