At the Asian Boxing Championships in Ulaanbaatar, Tajik boxer Mijgona Samadova won a bronze medal in the 57 kg weight category.
The semifinal round bouts take place on the ninth day of the competition. Tajikistan is represented at this stage of the tournament by Mijgona Samadova (57 kg), Nekruz Salimov (80 kg), and Parviz Karimov (90 kg).
In the semifinals of the 57 kg weight class, Mijgona Samadova faced Thailand's Punravee Ruenros. She put up a strong fight over three rounds, but lost by split decision, 4-1, and took the bronze medal.
Nekruz Salimov will reportedly face Jordanian Hussein Ishaish, while Parviz Karimov will face Indian Harsh Choudhary. The fights are scheduled to begin at 2:00 PM.
The championship kicked off on March 30 and will run until April 10. Representatives from 25 countries and at least 230 boxers are participating in the tournament. The competition is held under the auspices of World Boxing.
