The Football Federation of Tajikistan, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) – the UN Migration Agency – and the UEFA Foundation for Children signed an agreement to implement a two-year project, "Connecting Communities and Empowering Vulnerable Children in Tajikistan's Border Areas through Football," the FTF reported.

The project aims to support children and young people living in border regions affected by migration, as well as to strengthen social cohesion through football.
The initiative plans to build inclusive football pitches in two target districts: the city of Isfara on the border with Kyrgyzstan and the Ishkashim district on the border with Afghanistan. The project is expected to reach over 20,000 children and young people.
It is noted that in many border communities, access to organized leisure activities remains limited. The new project aims to address this issue by investing not only in sports infrastructure but also in developing coaching capacity, hosting tournaments, and implementing educational programs.
Particular attention will be paid to developing leadership qualities, life skills and resilience among young people.
