The city round of the national "Best Housewife" competition took place in Khujand, with women and girls from organizations, departments, institutions, and mahallas participating. The city's executive authority reported this.
Important components of the national values of the Tajik people include the popularization of genuine housekeeping among women and girls, respect for the individual and role of women in the family and society, raising culture, preparing girls for independent life, recognizing the skill of housewives, as well as developing the art of table setting, and reviving national cuisine and traditional home décor.
It is emphasized that the unique talent and skill of Tajik women and girls characterize them as reasonable, moral, creative and cultured individuals.
The competition is now in its eighth year. Its goal is to popularize, revive, and preserve the best national traditions of the Tajik people in the preparation of national dishes, appetizers, and local cuisine, as well as to improve the level of housekeeping and table setting skills.
It is noted that one of the main goals of such national competitions is to encourage and engage women and girls in the revival of lost national and local dishes, the development of traditional cuisine in restaurants and cafeterias, and the creation of new jobs.
Following the citywide competition, a group of women from Khujand City Clinical Hospital No. 1 took first place. Second place went to participants from Khujand State University named after Academician Bobojon Gafurov. Third place went to representatives of the Tillokon mahalla.
The winners were awarded diplomas, letters of thanks, and commemorative gifts, and also received tickets to the regional stage of the competition.
Holding such exhibitions, competitions, and national festivals, as noted, allows for the exploration of aspects of the art of handicrafts, housekeeping, family culture, and thrift, as well as rewarding the best artisans. This fosters interest in the study of customs and traditions, ancestral heritage, and national rituals, as well as the development of the spiritual culture of society.
