On March 19, 2026, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan chaired a regular meeting of the Interdepartmental Headquarters for Coordinating the Implementation of Macroeconomic Policy and Preventing the Impact of Potential Risks on the National Economy. The meeting was titled "The State of the Communications Sector in the Republic of Tajikistan, Particularly the Modernization of Long-Distance Fiber-Optic Lines and Providing the Population with High-Speed Internet." This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Communications.
At the beginning of the meeting, Abdurahmonzoda Abdurahmon Safarali noted that the communications sector is under the direct attention of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, and the country's government. State policy is aimed at developing modern communications networks, increasing internet speeds, ensuring internet affordability, and digitalizing public and other services. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade.
During the meeting, a report was presented by Isfandiyor Sadullo, Head of the Communications Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan. It was noted that the Service, in collaboration with relevant ministries and agencies, is taking the necessary measures to further develop the communications industry, including upgrading long-distance fiber-optic lines and providing the population with high-speed internet.
