The exhibition "From Navruz to Navruz" has opened at the National Museum of Tajikistan.

On March 13, 2026, the National Museum of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan held the opening of its traditional exhibition, "From Navruz to Navruz," in honor of the International Holiday of Navruz. This was reported by the press service of the National Museum of Tajikistan.

The official opening ceremony of the exhibition was attended by the Director of the National Museum, Ibrohimzoda Zafarsho Safo; the Advisor to the Department of the Assistant to the President of the Republic of Tajikistan on Social Development and Public Relations, Panjshanbezoda Muhiddin Shohinbod; the Deputy Minister of Labor, Migration, and Employment of the Republic of Tajikistan, Ashuralizoda Abdurahmon Ashurali; and the Vice-Rector of the State Institute of Fine Arts and Design of Tajikistan, Odinazoda Bakhtiyor Emomali.

At the beginning of the event, the director of the National Museum of Zafarsho Safo Ibrohimzoda congratulated the exhibition participants on the arrival of the International Holiday of Navruz and gave a speech about the meaning and place of the holiday of Navruz, as well as the content of the traditional exhibition "From Navruz to Navruz."

The exhibition was also attended by staff of the National Museum, representatives of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan, students and teachers of the State Institute of Fine Arts and Design of Tajikistan, the Tajik State Institute of Culture and Art named after Mirzo Tursunzade, the Republican Art College named after M. Olimov, folk craftsmen, art lovers, and representatives of the media.

The exhibition presents new items of historical and cultural significance that were collected over the course of one year—from Nowruz 2025 to Nowruz 2026—through various means, including expeditions, acquisitions, and donations, and transferred to the National Museum’s collections.

It was noted that during this period, the National Museum's collection received 665 pieces of various historical and cultural heritage items. Of these, 240 items were acquired by the collection committee, 182 items were discovered by the institution's archaeologists at archaeological sites across the country, and 243 items were donated to the museum by various organizations and individuals.

The exhibition features archaeological and ethnographic materials, manuscript sources, lithographic books, paintings, coins from various eras, various types of suzani, as well as traditional Chakan clothing and dresses, reflecting the rich history and ancient culture of the Tajik people.

A special place in the exhibition is occupied by an embroidered chakan piece, created by six craftswomen from the city of Kulob over a period of six months. The piece measures 6 x 6 meters. It is noted that this exhibit is the largest piece of embroidery in the National Museum's collection.

The exhibition also features a unique archaeological artifact—a two-handled water vessel with an inscription in the ancient Bactrian language, discovered by archaeologists from the National Museum during excavations at the Khalkajar site in the Khuroson region.

It is noted that between Nowruz 2025 and Nowruz 2026, the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, and the Chairman of the National Council of the Supreme Assembly of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mayor of Dushanbe, Rustam Emomali, donated five items of historical and cultural significance to the National Museum. These include the paintings "United Tajikistan," "The Great Wall of China," "Mother's Blessing," a certificate for the Hissar sheep breed, a pink Taifi grape variety from the Almosi Gorge, and a "Jug with Tajik Ornament."

The traditional exhibition “From Navruz to Navruz” will continue until March 23, 2026.
