On March 5, Khatlon Region Chairman Davlatali Said met with promising young Tajik athlete Abdulloi Orif and presented him with a 20,000 somoni cash prize for his significant achievement at an international competition, according to the press service of the Khatlon Region Chairman.
Abdulloi Orif is a graduate of the Saimumin Rakhimov Specialized Sports School of Wrestling in the Khatlon Region in Kulyab. In the 73-kilogram weight class, he defeated all his competitors at the Tashkent Grand Slam 2026 international tournament, winning first place and the gold medal.
This achievement is assessed as the result of hard work, strong will and serious preparation of the athlete and his coaches.



According to the official competition calendar of the International Judo Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan national judo team took part in the top-level Grand Slam tournament, which was held in Tashkent from February 27 to March 1, 2026.
Following intense competition, the country's athletes, demonstrating a high level of professionalism and excellent physical and technical preparation, won one gold and one bronze medal. Abdulloi Orif won the gold medal, and Nurali Emomali won the bronze.


This achievement is seen as a significant contribution to strengthening the authority of Tajik sports in the international arena and as a result of the consistent implementation of the policy of the state and the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan in the field of development of physical culture and sports.
In continuation of the noble initiatives of the President of Tajikistan and with the aim of further stimulating the region's youth and athletes, the "Khatlon Region Chairman's Prize for Winners of International Sports Competitions" has been established, and Abdulloi Orif will be one of the first recipients.
Regional Chairman Davlatali Said warmly congratulated Abdulloi Orif on this historic victory and wished him continued success and new achievements in the upcoming competitions.
