On February 24, 2026, a regular meeting of the Council of Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives of the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States to the Statutory and Other Bodies of the Commonwealth was held at the headquarters of the Commonwealth of Independent States in Minsk. This was reported by the press service of the Embassy of Tajikistan in Belarus.
During the meeting, the issue of participation of CIS countries in the XXXIII Minsk International Book Fair, which will be held from March 17 to 22, 2026 and will be timed to coincide with the 35th anniversary of the CIS, was discussed.
Council members heard information on the implementation of the Roadmap for the implementation of the initiatives of the heads of delegations regarding security cooperation, as well as on the results of the activities of the CIS sectoral cooperation bodies in this area for 2025.


The permanent plenipotentiary representatives discussed proposals for the draft agenda of the next meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government, scheduled for May 22, 2026, in Ashgabat, summarized the implementation of the Long-Term Plan for the Development of the CIS Legal Framework for 2023–2025, and determined further steps for the next three-year period.
In addition, a decision was made regarding the head of the CIS Observer Mission at the national referendum on the adoption of a new Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, scheduled for March 15, 2026.
At the end of the meeting, the Russian side presented documentary collections entitled “Republics to the Front 1941–1945.”
