The Dushanbe Department of Internal Affairs has called on businesses to prevent unjustified price increases on food products during the holy month of Ramadan.
The department reiterated that Ramadan is a time of mercy and good deeds. However, the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that some unscrupulous individuals, taking advantage of increased demand, are artificially inflating the cost of food products, which is contrary to both moral norms and spiritual values.
It is reported that police officers, together with other authorized agencies, are conducting inspections and outreach efforts to control prices of essential goods.
Traders, entrepreneurs, and suppliers are urged to maintain price balance and operate in good faith. Any violations will be subject to enforcement action in accordance with current legislation.
