On February 17, the 13th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan was held in Dushanbe with the participation of Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Kohir Rasulzoda and Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov, NIAT Khovar reports.
One of the main topics of the meeting was expanding cooperation in the areas of trade, investment, energy, industry, agriculture, transport, customs, education, culture, and other sectors.



As was emphasized, thanks to the constructive policies and strong will of the leaders of the two friendly and fraternal countries, relations in all spheres have now significantly developed, and the peoples of the states live in an atmosphere of friendship and brotherhood.
It was noted that it is precisely on the basis of strong political will, mutual respect, and alliance that bilateral relations are currently developing in a spirit of friendship. In 2025, trade between the countries reached $718.3 million, a 22.5 percent increase compared to 2024.
The parties agreed to increase the volume of mutual trade to 2 billion dollars.



It was noted that strengthening cooperation in the industrial sector remains one of the priority areas of joint activity.
Following the meeting, a Protocol on joint activities of the Intergovernmental Commission on Cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan was signed.
Introduction to the activities of industrial enterprises
In addition, during the meeting, Kokhir Rasulzoda and Abdulla Aripov were introduced to the activities of the Gayur-Pak polypropylene bag manufacturing plant, as well as the Gayur Korea Technology plant for the production of LED lamps and other lighting equipment.
Gayur-Pak operates using modern technologies. Its production capacity is 50 million polypropylene bags per year.



The Gayur Korea Technology LED lamp and lighting equipment manufacturing plant has established production of over 100 products. The industrial facility's annual production capacity is 1.2 million units, primarily aimed at meeting the needs of the domestic market.
