Irresponsible driver behavior caused a traffic jam on the Dushanbe-Chanak highway.

The IRS service company reported a traffic jam on the Dushanbe-Chanak highway in the Ayni district.

According to the company, on the morning of February 18, a traffic jam formed on a dangerous section of the highway as a result of individual drivers driving onto the shoulder and attempting to drive in the oncoming lane, significantly impeding traffic flow.

IRS emphasized that it has repeatedly advised drivers not to drive without thorough preparation, to refrain from driving without front snow chains, to maintain mutual respect, and to avoid driving into oncoming traffic. According to the company, it is precisely the failure to follow these guidelines that causes traffic jams on the Dushanbe-Chanak highway.

A similar situation was reported on February 18, with traffic in the Ayni area becoming congested. However, the road remains open and accessible.

The company expressed concern that after clearing avalanches, employees are forced to additionally clear the resulting traffic jams. Under these circumstances, the statement noted, individuals unaware of the causes of the traffic jams often express dissatisfaction to the branch's responsible employees.

IRS management also stated that due to the irresponsibility of individual drivers, the branch's specialized, high-powered equipment cannot be dispatched to areas of heavy snowfall in a timely manner. The company noted that some citizens do not take these arguments seriously, viewing them as an attempt at self-justification.

Given the current situation, the company has further appealed to drivers to maintain mutual respect, emphasizing that such actions not only create difficulties for the violators themselves but also hinder the movement of other vehicles.

IRS employees expressed confidence that drivers will understand the branch's measures aimed at ensuring smooth and safe traffic flow. They also noted that they expect the relevant traffic police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to take appropriate action against the driver whose actions were captured on video.
