A shipment of humanitarian aid from the government and people of Tajikistan to needy residents of the Gaza Strip was delivered on February 8, the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported .
"On the evening of February 8, a convoy of Tajik aid, consisting of food, warm clothing, tents, and waterproof sheeting, was delivered to Gaza in six trucks," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the trucks passed through the Rafah checkpoint on the Egyptian-Palestinian border in the presence of the Tajik ambassador to Egypt and representatives of Tajik charitable organizations.
"It should be noted that the Republic of Tajikistan has continuously provided humanitarian and financial assistance to the population of Gaza since the first days of the conflict in the region," the department emphasized.
On February 6, Tajikistan's Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Mukhriddin announced at a press conference that humanitarian aid would be sent to Gaza.
