A criminal case has been opened against Dushanbe resident Gulova Rajabgul for repeating fortune-telling, despite previously imposed administrative sanctions. This was reported by the Dushanbe Department of Internal Affairs .
As reported, Gulova Rajabgul had previously been charged with fortune-telling under Article 482 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Tajikistan. She was sternly warned against repeating such behavior. However, subsequent investigations revealed that she had not given up the practice.
During an investigation, officers from the Firdavsi District Department of Internal Affairs No. 2 detained Gulova Rajabgul while she was engaged in fortune telling. It was established that she used harmala, salt, soap, thread, water, and a knife to perform the fortune telling for financial gain.
Based on this fact, a criminal case has been opened against Gulova Rajabgul under Article 240, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The internal affairs agencies once again called on citizens to assist law enforcement agencies in order to completely eradicate fortune-telling and witchcraft.
