In 2025, specialists from the Agency for Standardization, Metrology, Certification, and Trade Supervision under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan identified 1,228,546 kilograms of various types of substandard food products that did not meet established requirements. This was reported during the agency's press conference.
As noted by the agency's first deputy director, Rahmonsho Mirzoyon, in 2024 this figure was 1 million 11 thousand 801 kilograms. According to him, in 2025, the agency’s laboratories recognized 18,896 kilograms of meat products, 104,258 kilograms of vegetable oil, 6,769 liters of alcoholic beverages, 12,305 liters of soft drinks, 31,059 kilograms of confectionery, 1,939 kilograms of canned goods, 166,470 kilograms of salt, 4,323 kilograms of dried fruits, 6,405 kilograms of tea and cocoa, 51,915 kilograms of flour, 255,153 kilograms of grain products, as well as other goods, a significant part of which are imported, as non-standard and withdrew from circulation.
The agency's first deputy director emphasized that, in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan dated January 10, 2025, declaring a moratorium and the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan "On a Moratorium on Inspections of Business Entities" dated February 11, 2025, all types of inspections of business activities were prohibited.
"In this regard, during meetings and consultations with producers, sellers, and entrepreneurs importing goods, we intensified our outreach efforts on compliance with trade regulations and consumer protection. As a result, responsible entrepreneurs contacted the agency with requests to destroy expired food products," said Rahmonshho Mirzoyon.
According to him, in response to requests from entrepreneurs, 585,635 kilograms of various types of food products with expired dates were transferred to the agency's storage warehouse in 2025, of which 500,000 kilograms were received between May and December 2025.
